Social media is an extremely effective channel for generating initial franchise enquiries. Platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and X (Twitter) are powerful tools for online advertising and brand exposure. In addition, traditional forms of marketing remain highly effective, including print media, vehicle signwriting, sponsorship signage, car decals, business cards, invoices, and email signatures. All marketing materials should clearly state that franchise opportunities are available.

Offering incentives to existing franchisees—such as referral rewards or temporary fee reductions—can also be an effective strategy for recruiting new franchise partners. Engaging several business brokers who specialise in franchising is another proven approach to attracting qualified franchise enquiries.

A particularly successful method for creating new franchise opportunities is to establish and operate a new location directly, employing staff to run the business initially. Once the operation is profitable and stable, it can then be sold as an established franchise. Where possible, it is advisable to offer this opportunity to existing staff first, often at a discounted rate, as they already understand the business.

When engaging with prospective franchisees, it is important to highlight the potential earning capabilities of the business while avoiding any firm guarantees. Spending adequate time with potential franchise partners is critical to building confidence and transparency.

Another valuable approach is to involve a trusted existing franchisee to speak with the prospective buyer. Prospects are often more inclined to trust someone who is not financially benefiting from the sale and who operates on a similar level within the system. This interaction helps build trust between the prospective franchisee, the current network, and the franchisor.
